Re: tandy & holly; the music store
Yeah, he got she was pretty careful. He'd gotten that from their first conversation, the one where she was all Big Brother and No Phones, which was a total thing with people who lived off the grid. But Holly kinda thought living off the grid was a fucking waste of time and energy. Even without the phones, there were W-2s, banking accounts, and everything else a SSN was required for, not to mention facial recognition software and cameras every fucking place. But, man, look, his time with the military? Had taught him that everyone was on the fucking radar, and any lack of pursuit? Was because a person wasn't important enough, not because they were actually slipping by unseen.
And as for taking this way straight? Look, he was kinda numbed-out to stuff now. Before the knives? He'd gotten hit with Hazel eating souls or some shit, so maybe knives were a chiller thing. It didn't make sense to him, but none of this stuff made sense to him. There were the ability people, right? The ones who were different, like werewolves and vampires and shit, and then there was this. He couldn't find a genesis for light-knives, not if he tried his hardest, so the best alternative was chill."There's also the fact that you look 15, and you'd get carded between sips," he said of her going to The Cat.
"Bullshit," he told her, you know, about not being about not being able to make the knife thing conscious. "You just need to work on it. If it's something made by your head, then there has to be a way to control it. However, I just don't get how mass can be created in the shape of a knife light. Unless it's just fucking light, and I guess light isn't mass, but then you could probably create light puppies too. IDK." He caught her expression, the kinda fear-discomfort one, but if she wanted to not talk straight? She'd come to the wrong person. Holly didn't give hugs.
"Maybe your dad did some experimentation shit on you? That's how it works in comics with genius scientists." As for a loaded parent? That was so normal for Holly that he didn't even acknowledge it.
