Re: tandy & holly; the music store
She didn't know the gym was all-systems-go, put on pause until the upstairs was done but Tandy firmly believed in putting yourself first. It was why she hadn't ducked out of the house in the neighborhood when she'd figured out slash confirmed with Alex that Billy was kinda all about the other guy and it was probably, you know, challenging to deal with her occupying present universe-space that nixed the idea the other guy could make it through. Selfishness, sometimes, was the only way of keeping shit on the road and Tandy had enough rear-view mileage on selfish that she probably wouldn't have held it too much against the guy, and even if she had, he wouldn't know.
But anyway: she didn't, so he didn't, and the store was empty so focus. The music was mellow, a little yielding, a little melancholy or at least, to Tandy's ears but she'd been gear-shifted into downbeat since her feet had hit solid ground in weird!Repose. Where you know, light-knives were a thing. She wasn't a scientist? She wasn't into the scary computing-set-up the other Tandy had buried in a knapsack under the bed, and she definitely didn't study weird. "Works all right meaning, I can get them and I can put them away. It's kinda hard to conceal, you know, if the protect-and-serve types are around." She meandered up to the counter, and she sat, sneaker-heels hooked on stool-bar on the opposite side of the counter, and she shrugged, like she hadn't contemplated the answer.
"I don't know why they're light-knives. They've been light-knives since the beginning, they were that way before I left, they're that way now, I was curiously free of light-knife activity in the other place. I haven't tried to cauterize anything. Maybe that's the next experiment, but wouldn't that need blood-flow, or something?" He was curious, which was self-evident, and Tandy's shoulders had slumped which was pretty indicative she was less curious, more cautious. A deadly weapon was kinda a big deal. But she laughed, caught off-guard.
"I don't know. If I could do light-puppies, I would be all about that. No dice. Just knives."
