Re: lakeside mansions: Dietre A. & Hugh C.
Hugh cocked an eyebrow, a little surprised at the shift, but not judgmental at all. It sort of seemed that one might have reason to be angry there. He nodded quietly, just letting Dietre share without really offering too much in the way of opinion. None of it was anything Hugh thought he could fix, because sometimes with things- you just had to work your way through them.
"Yeah," Hugh nodded, thinking of Hannah and the few months they had almost been together. Except he hadn't really had her, had he? That had become very clear to him in retrospect. Nearly a year out from all of the things that had pulled them apart, and it was easier for him to see, that he'd hoped to have her, but he was pretty certain he'd been something pretend for her. And he mostly felt foolish for having not seen it sooner.
"I'm sorry he's gone," Hugh reached his leg over, nudging Dietre's foot gently with his own. "I know... you never replace someone, but I think there are multiple people that can make us happy. Or maybe I just have to believe that because it's too depressing otherwise."
