Re: Kitchen: Hugh & Hannah
Maybe that was something he hadn't understood. Maybe it was something he did understand now, or was beginning to. Maybe she'd been a mystery to him. Maybe she still was a little. Maybe everyone was a little bit of a mystery to everyone else in the end, and the only thing that really mattered was that you were curious enough to want to keep uncovering clues to know more. But for now he simply gave her a quick grin and slipped across to return with two butterscotch cookies. Standing in front of her, eyes twinkling he handed one out, if she wanted it, while he tried a nibble of the other.
"You have not led me astray," he told her as he finished the first bite and took a second with a quick grin. But he nodded. "If I dance, I'll grab Zee and make her dance with me, but I think it's more likely I just fall into bed without even undressing, cause it's been such a long day." He breathed in. "But a good one. My play has opened, and the first night was a success, and now I'm here eating butterscotch cookies with you and it's good." And it really, really was.
For a moment he stayed facing her, and then he turned again, coming back to the counter and back to being beside her again. "You know, there was someone who was looking for a place and I did offer. They found somewhere else I think, but I think you're right. It's too big, even with Heart and the cats, it's just too echo-y for just me. Theodore came over a few times when he was here, and it was always better. And it was better when you would come and stay with me too. I don't need a party, although, I like them, but it's nice to have someone around. It's better. I'm glad you'll have roommates too. It's nice to not be alone."
