Basement: Audrey and open.
It was quiet and cool in the basement--and void of people. So Audrey, after a bit of socializing, gathered up a plate of food (finally!) and tiptoed down below for some much needed decompressing. She decided to curl up on the love seat with her yellow afghan. The lights from above delicately twinkled in time to the sound of feet shuffling along the floor boards. There was laughter floating in the air along to Shakira's cries about breasts and mountains. It was an interesting playlist Hannah had found, to say the least and it made Audrey smile her quiet smile.
She'd rejoin later and say hello to the faces she hadn't been able to properly greet yet, a few she was surprised to see, but delighted nonetheless. And after all this socializing? A very long sleep and day or two dedicated to cleaning up and books and quiet. So many parties and outings in such a short time, she needed a reprieve or soon she'd short circuit.
A disruptive gurgling protest erupted from her stomach like a mewling wail interrupting her thoughts, her belly was empty and needed sated stat. "Alright, alright." She would appease her body by shoving a hefty spoonful of mac n'cheese into her mouth. Audrey pressed her lips together moaning faintly. Okay, maybe it was in bad taste to groan and find delight in her own cooking, but skipping stones the mac n'cheese was good tonight, warm, gooey, cheesy and of course carb-y. Everything she loved. She took in another spoonful, her cheeks puffing out slightly. She out did herself. Mental pat on the back.
