Re: Milkshake Bar: Ren & Alex
Alex knew it was a flimsy thing, really, but he genuinely did like Ren, and was sorry he hadn't taken the time to get to know him better before now, despite the fact that he'd been in town for over a year now, and had pretty much visited the coffee shop five days a week. But he was fixing that now, and that was a good thing. He could always use more friends, though not in a utilitarian way. That was the thing Repose had taught him above all else, is that you needed a circle of people that you liked, you cared about, and you trusted. That liked, cared about, and trusted you in return. He missed out on Christmas wishes a while back, but if he'd had one at the time, it might have been that. "I don't think I'm goin' anywhere anytime soon," he said with a quieter sort of smile. He could only think of one reason that might pull him away from town, and it didn't seem likely that Mal was leaving either. Not that it was his choice to make, or even that he had a say in anything like that. But if he did, well. That was for another time, and it didn't bear thinking about. Tonight was for a good time, and judging by the progress he was currently making, plenty of milkshakes.
