Re: Upstairs, outside the open window: Hannah/Rey
She tapped her feet against the edge of the awning, and she clapped her approval in pats of fingers to fingers. Her smile was moonlight-bright, and she laughed happily. "Right! The house says you may pass," and the ghosts in Hannah's past had belonged to the house, and then they had followed her, followed Si, followed them. But no one else ever saw them, and so she wasn't worried about them scaring anyone inside the house ever. The ghost with the bent neck was her ghost, and these days she remembered other things. Things dawned and rose to the surface like cream, memories of after. But tonight the living room was merely a riddle, and she kind of liked being the house.
She liked meeting someone new, too. Hannah liked people, for all that she made them uncomfortable a lot with her oddity. But Rey was smiling and saying how she knew Audrey, and Hannah liked her. She liked the cadence of Rey's voice, and she liked the artless question and the way Rey smiled. And she liked that there was a gift in her hand, one for Audrey. "Oh! Then maybe you know Ren too," she suggested, and then she glanced over her shoulder at the window she'd left open. "I live here too," she said without concern for secrecy. "I'm Audrey's roommate. Hi. I like the bookstore too. Oh, and my brother's going to be living here. Soon, just not yet."
