Re: [Gala, Capital: Burden & Damian]
Burden, he just wasn't expecting Damian to take the lesson and turn it around. And Burden, he was plenty confused about the feelings welling up in him this night, but he still aware that this was Damian being a shit some. And could be that the better thing to do would be to just let Damian go on with Ben and have himself a good time, but Burden still found himself making that offer to go on out and get some fresh air. He was fussed at himself a few seconds later for offering, but only on account of he was real certain he shouldn't be keeping the other boy from socializing. But he didn't make no effort to recant or recall the invitation. Instead, he just waited on Damian to decide, his own smile something angelic as he looked at Ben. Ben, he looked on back with his own brand of entitled smugness, and Burden glanced on over at Damian with a slow sweep of bright blue.
And it probably wasn't real fitting for a man of God to be smug in the face of victory, but it would be impossible to misunderstand Burden's subsequent smile as anything but victorious. He gave Ben a look that wasn't anything that was going to earn him canonization, and he didn't echo Damian's assurance that they wouldn't go far any.
Burden, he understood that he was making himself an enemy just now, and in the circle he usually worked in heavy, but he couldn't bring himself to care about that neither.
He just motioned a long arm, delicate wrist and long fingers, toward the entrance to the museum. And if Damian went on, he followed and then led, stopping brief at the coat check to grab his own wool coat, ticket in hand, and to ask for Damian's own ticket, if the boy had a coat needing collecting too. And if Damian did have a coat, Burden held it, helping real gentlemanly for Damian to slip into the sleeves.
