Re: [Log: Gym-to-be, Marta and Holly]
Marta would've completely understood the difficulty of talking to other people. Extended time or even just a short interaction, sometimes. It was hard most of the time, and didn't feel like it worked most of the time, and left her feeling as if she should just keep to herself most of the time. But it also felt like she and Holly had gotten to a point that fell outside of that framework. "Repairing what you caused," she said in return, arguing for no reason now other than the fact that it was light and not at all serious.
Not a housewife in any way, but seeing Holly enjoy the food she'd brought left her feeling warm. It didn't matter that she hadn't been the one to make it - it was something good for someone she liked. And however much Holly ended up eating at the moment, there would still be enough left for the guys to have dinner or lunch the next day.
"It's the..." She shook her head, not entirely certain that Holly was understanding. And fuck her own brain for that. "My brain. Words." She made a face, trying to indicate the absolute mess of it all. And then she took a few more breaths, trying to find some calm to drag toward herself. But Holly's next question made her snap her eyes up to his, gone wide as she shook her head again, more insistent this time. Her memory flashed back to the holiday, and all the different things people were saying. The things that Derek had messaged her about. "...rumor."
