Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c./theodore c.
Hugh had sipped and listened and asked questions, and had succeeded in not making himself melancholy before it was time to be as Theodore had told him about his past in that wizarding world, and what exactly Dark Arts entailed. There was more than Hugh had known, which he supposed made sense because of the magic, but he hadn't realized how much more. He occasionally asked questions, or offered supportive comments as Theodore dipped into his family history, and by the end of the evening he really only had an increased respect for the knowledge and character of the man he'd had the opportunity to befriend.
He stood as Theodore did wishing the evening could continue, but he was tired and he knew Theodore needed to sleep if he was driving all that way. "Drive safe tomorrow," he offered, as he stepped forward towards his friend. "Lindmarch needs your expertise," he added. Hugh had known it earlier in the evening when looking at the letter, but now he understood it far better. And he could see Theodore as a professor, and in this subject in particular more clearly - that calm unruffled way of his would make for an excellent instructor in this subject.
