"Children do grow up, I've been told," Hugh teased Theodore gently, "But that doesn't mean you can't give her Dad jokes for at least another, what five months, six? It's a good way to send her off into the world." He pulled in a breath, not thinking about the summer, or the months in between, or the likelihood that Theodore would take the post for good, and instead he reached for Theodore's hand and squeezed it. "Good, because this looks way too nice for me to drink all by myself. Come on in, I've got a fire going and I'll get glasses for us."
He picked up the box of whiskey before turning back into the house. "I want to hear all about what 'defense against the dark arts' entails - and the position was cursed?" He set the box on the bar cart, and reached for two fresh glasses and turned around, eyes twinkling. "Do I get to call you 'Professor' now?"
