Heart's ears had popped up before the knock and Hugh had only half noticed that warming sign of someone being at the door so intent was he on the script pages in front of him. He'd put a fire in the giant stone fireplace, poured himself a portion of scotch which he'd mostly not touched, and turned on music to enjoy while he worked on memorizing lines for a bit. He hadn't been expecting company, although the possibility of someone just popping by wasn't as impossible as it once had been and that felt like a mild accomplishment in and of itself.
The week had been odd enough that he'd originally planned on just spending the evening alone, allowing himself to work on the script, enjoy some decent alcohol, and giving himself space to consider the events without distraction, but Hugh was never one to discourage any company either. "Yeah, I know I wonder who?" He told Heart, as he stood up from the sofa and headed for the door.
He hadn't expected Theodore although the man had an open invitation anytime he wanted to come by. And when he opened the door and saw him there, a smile sprang to his lips instantly. "Theodore," he pulled the door open further, warm and welcoming. "Come in. I was just doing a bit of reading." More or less true as it was reading, and also memorizing, really. He stepped back to let the other man in, his eyes glancing over his posture before his gaze shifted up to Theodore's face again. "What's up?" Because it felt as if there was something, maybe. This might not just be a friendly visit.
