Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c./dietre a.
The mention of Hitchcock seemed to confirm that dim memory. Dietre was quite sure that this had been discussed under a different name. He wasn’t going to ask, if Hugh had another identity on the forums he must have a reason. Dietre didn’t feel like he was in a position to pry. “Yes, I think so…”
“You invited me to come watch some films,” he continued, still remembering. “...But I never came. I have to apologize for not taking you up on an offer to visit until now.” The more he thought about it, the more regretful he was of not coming out here sooner. He could have had another friend this whole time, for if he remembered correctly the original invitation had been given quite a while ago. Maybe if he had had one more person to turn to when Aleksi left he wouldn’t have fallen apart as much as he did. Maybe he wouldn’t have ended up on that bridge, wouldn’t have ended up back in Quiet Home…
Tapping his fingers against his mug again, Dietre’s gaze flickered toward Hugh sidelong. “I’d still like to watch it sometime… Or anything, really. As I’ve said, I haven’t seen many films.” Though, in the end, this wasn’t only about expanding his experience with film, but spending time with someone else. It was about not being lonely.
