Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c./dietre a.
Hugh leaned down to pet the younger dog, letting her sniff, and then sliding his hand behind her ears gently. He'd never thought he'd be a dog person, but then once he'd gotten Heart, it had been obvious that he was and he smiled at the two dogs, one smaller, the other a bit older, and convinced that they were getting along he straightened up and gave Dietre a warm smile as if he hadn't noticed the flustered response.
There was a heartbeat's hesitation as Hugh considered which Dietre might like better. He really didn't know the other man very well at all, but taking him at his word for being not particular he decided maybe a hot cocoa. Everyone liked hot chocolate, right? "I've got a sipping chocolate my mom sent me and I've been looking for an excuse to try it," he shrugged heading for the kitchen to heat milk with the espresso maker that he had. There was the opportunity for Dietre to suggest something else if he wanted, but Hugh pulled two mugs down from the cabinets.
"It must be really nice to be out of the hospital now," He suggested. "It seems as if Sieglinde has fallen back into being with you just fine."
