Re: [B&B: Dante & Holly]
Dante would give a nod at what Holly offered on his day. She could take a million guesses about what was going on with him, what was going through his head, but everyone was different and just because they'd shared a similar experience didn't mean she had any fucking clue about anything in his head for a fact.
"Been busy, doing a custom car for Atticus." Dante would allow a hint of the tiredness she felt slip into the smile given to Holly. Though his next launch into asking her questions about what had happened to her? Okay, so, not something she was particularly keen on but...
He needed help, help she could give.
There was a sigh and a tight looking smile. "I did, yeah." The fact of the matter was she still did sometimes, but that didn't need to be said here. Nightmares had lessened over the years but the ones now, when they did come? Felt just as bad as the very first time they'd happened. Any day she woke up thrashing and whining and covered in sweat? Generally, those days were just shit days and she knew they were going to be shit from the second she woke up with her body too hot, tears streaking down her face and her muscles too tight.
"You having nightmares?" It seemed a reasonable thing to ask, most of his questions had connected back to himself in some manner so far and considering how fresh his trauma was? Dante didn't expect anything else. It was how every trauma survivor worked for a little bit while they were trying to get their head and bodies back to as right as they'd ever be again. Dante would fall silent, letting him speak as she'd begin to pull the smart brace - which looked much like a knee wrap without closer inspection - out of the duffle bag she'd brought.
"This is the slimmer brace. I've built a simplistic AI into it." She grinned at him. "Cool, right?" The brace would be lifted up, rotating in her hands before him as she spoke. "The AI will learn your movement habits, good, bad, other, whatever, and from there it'll adjust the configuration and fit of the brace automatically through a series of inflatable pressure increasing bladders. They're itsy-bitsy." The grin widened as fingers pinched together in the air to emphasize how small the pressure bladders were. "However, it'll need calibration time, so you're gonna need to wear it for a bit before you'll be able to reap all the temperature control, auto-support adjusting, calculations of appropriate pressure levels to maintain muscle, bone and ligament movement at optimal parameters." Her posture of showcasing the brace to him dropped away. "The entire goal of this brace is to put pressure and support where pressure and support need to be to keep all the pieces of your knee and leg working at optimal performance and - theoretically - decrease healing time as the parts of your leg won't be allowed to move in a manner that would damage them." With all that out, she'd step forward.
