Re: [B&B: Dante & Holly]
Was quiet today, which Holly appreciated. The rooms around him were empty and no one was fighting. He'd noticed a lot of the regular residents of the B&B argued, yeah? But it was quiet tonight, and he had yet to see a ghost in residence. I mean, he knew that everyone said the place was haunted, but he hadn't seen it for himself at all. Anyway, yeah, he called out loudly, and he turned his head to watch her carry the bags into the space. And, sure, his gaze dropped to them, like, immediately. Maybe he was putting too much hope on the contents of the bag, but he was having a really hard time with his inability to get around, and he perpetually felt like he could do more, you know, if he could do more. More to help Noah, more to help with the gym, more with the store. Just, more.
"The slimmer brace. Sure." He shifted around as well as he could manage, so he was kinda sitting on the couch, instead of reclining on it. It was hard, and it was uncomfortable, but he managed. "My day's better since you showed up talking about a slimmer brace," he admitted. He looked tired, and his pain-level was kinda high tonight, but he was attempting not to hit the painkillers too hard, you know? "But, yeah... how about your day?" he asked. He realized he didn't know all that much about her, and he should remedy that, right? I mean, he knew she was into cars, and he knew she'd been injured, but that was mostly it. "I should probably ask more." He didn't actually apologize, because he got that he'd been kinda distracted, down, stressed, whatever. But he did acknowledge it, the lack of asking. "Your thing that happened, did you have nightmares and stuff after?"
He almost asked how she felt about the concept of parallel timelines or universes, but, nah. Not yet. He'd already kinda accepted that he would ask... eventually. Just not yet.
