Re: lakeside mansion: Hugh C./Audrey C.
Audrey took another bite chewing silently as Hugh spoke, her eyes never leaving his face. There was a trace of melancholy there, perhaps loneliness when he first admitted how he felt about the place. Not being in a good space wasn't unfathomable to her. She wasn't sure if what she felt in her life was the same, but to be lonely? She definitely could relate to that. It had ebbed since coming to Repose, she had found a friend in Noah (even with bumpy roads) and then Ren, Hannah, Marta, Alex, Dante, Burden and now Hugh. Others too, she was sure, and it was more friendship than she'd ever had in her whole life. It was overwhelming. It was intense and it was the most wonderful thing she'd ever experienced. Some times her heart swelled with the realization of it all, so much that her chest felt tight and the sensation went all the way to her eyes to form tears, but she held it back right now. Basking for the little while she could spend with Hugh in his sunbathed palace.
"It's kind of funny," she said softly after swallowing. "How that happens, how people, places just find a way to nestle perfectly with you, like a puzzle piece." She scooted forward ever so slightly at the mention of cats, too. "You have cats? I have always wanted one, they're so cute and have such personalities." Heart huffed at her. "Ah, so do dogs Heart, I promise." Appeased the lab settled back down.
"Well, whatever place you were in ...it seemed like this is the town--the people who might help things be better, you know?" Despite it's weirdness. It's magic. It's lines. Whatever it was, maybe, just maybe, Hugh was meant to be here.
