Re: lakeside mansion: Hugh C./Audrey C.
She actually beamed at that. A tradition, cooking for a friend and them returning the favor, it lit her from the inside like a candle that's aura beamed far larger and warmer than the flame itself. She popped a piece of avocado in her mouth allowing her shoulders to relax no longer hunching toward one another.
Her eyes followed his, her fork still resting in her mouth as she looked out at the lake. The winter sun was glinting over the water, reflecting the bare trees as carefully as the brushstrokes of a painting. It was beautiful, and a tiny part of her envied the fact he was able to wake up to such a view every day. Heart nudged her leg and she set down her fork to rub behind the lab's chocolate ears.
"Oh... um, it was just a beautiful part of the country, the winter snow always looked like a snowglobe, perfectly covered and the skies were so incredibly blue. I also liked some of the bakeries we had around town." Heart licked her palm and she chuckled leaning down to kiss a cold wet nose allowing the dog to take another lick on her cheek. Audrey patted Heart's head so she could trot away again. "Not that Repose isn't beautiful in its own ways. I can't wait to see it in the spring." Her gaze drifted back to the lake half expecting something to happen, to see a break in still water to reveal something far more mysterious below the surface.
She tore her eyes away. "It's a beautiful view. The whole house is." She tilted her head up at the high ceilings.
