lakeside mansion: Hugh C./Audrey C.
It certainly had not been a requirement to make him breakfast, or really any sort of thank you for letting her stay. The house was huge, they'd been on different floors, and if she hadn't already been crashed out - he would have likely offered her an actual bed. Well, maybe not, because he wasn't entirely certain if that implied something beyond what he wanted it to, but the point was there was plenty of space and he was alone often enough in the house to not mind having someone else in it, and she'd hardly been a trouble. He suspected she'd slept decently enough, if only because he'd fallen asleep on that sofa during the middle of a movie he was watching all too late often enough to know just how well it slept.
He waved a hand at her, shaking his head at her apology. "Honestly, it was no trouble at all. You're fine. I hope you slept well enough? It's usually not too bad down there so long as you've got a blanket so I left you the fleece throw."
He reached a hand up to try to tame curls that were definitely a little wilder than they'd been the night before, and as he did so his gaze followed hers towards the table, and softened at the sight of the food and the espresso there. "You absolutely did not have to cook for me - is that affogato?" He stepped away from the counter and towards the food, eyes widening. "My god, Audrey, this looks incredible."
