Re: log: connie/atticus
She perked up when he mentioned the dog. Okay, for the record, she knew that dog was spooky and there was something not right about him. But, she really loved that dumb dog. And, hey, there was something spooky and not right about her so they were on the same wavelength. Also. She loved his cute little face. "That's a really great idea!" Connie exclaimed and then reached under her shirt collar to show him the necklace she was wearing. It was rabbit bone on a silver strand and looked really gothy and dramatic. "He brought me a rabbit the other night and I made it into a necklace for good luck. So far? So good." Connie grinned and glanced down at the bone, moving it between her fingers for a second (or maybe longer...to her anyway) and then slipped it back under her shirt.
"You're the least scary person here. She'll love you." Connie said and it sounded a bit big sisterly, she couldn't help it sometimes. "I hope it works out, we need more girls here. Uh- I was half working on cleaning up the attic, half using it as a space for trombone practice, but I'll get it ready for her by the weekend. No prob." Connie gave a tiny salute with two of her fingers and then sat back on the couch, blue eyes bright with a list of stuff she had to do and like a customary prank hidden in the room to be friendly. Something cute. Jello-phone? That was always a good one.
She looked back at Atticus when he asked and she nodded. "In the neighborhood. A two story. Not too big, but enough room that me and mah bro have some space. Or, well, we did, but he's gone to train to be a ranger. He's really cool and literally the best little brother in the whole world. I even made him a trophy for it." Connie turned to pull her phone out of her blue jacket and the scooched a little closer to show Atticus. The first picture was of her and Patrick (little bro who was WAY taller than her and not spooky at all) goofing off playing basketball. They looked happy, despite not having a dad around. "That's Patrick. I raised him." Connie said with a nod and then went through a few pictures of the house. It was messy like a bachelor pad mixed with a kids room. Games everywhere, posters of nerd stuff on the walls and both Patrick and Connie had those teenager "KEEP OUT" signs on their door littered with band stickers.
Connie grinned up at Atticus. "I'm settled here for life. I thought about selling the house or whatever. Moving. Becoming a zoo keeper. But, like I always say: home is home." She shrugged and shook her head. "That motto is so bad it doesn't even belong on a doormat."
