Dante "Inferno" Zaragoza - Death'll find you... (xolotl) wrote in repose,
Re: Dante/Rey
"Well, the social people are glad you're here too." Dante would grin as the kettle began to whistle and she flipped off the stove. Fetching the kettle up she'd pour the water over the teabag - a travesty that she couldn't find good tea out here, another thing for The Capital - filling the cup up about halfway with water to leave room for the whiskey.
Dante would turn back towards the table where all the liquor had been set as Rey mentioned her loss and Dante paused. The focus of her attention had been the whiskey prior but now.
"You have my condolences, but I know how fucking short those words fall." Dante fell silent again for a second as she still held Rey's cup of tea. "My mother passed when I was young so I get how hard holidays can be in my own way." There would be sad smile offered to Rey, one that spoke of sympathy and understanding more than anything else, as Dante stepped over to the table, settling the cup of tea down. It was quickly apparent this wasn't the time for getting too serious though and a brighter grin would be offered at the mention of Zorro and sword fights.
"You're in luck, we have inflatable swords in the living room for all your safe stabby needs." A finger pointed back from where they had come through to signal where to find where the items would be with a bright and excited grin. "Should be just inside the door frame to the left and when you're done with that?" Dante's thumb jutted back to the tea. "You've got your tea to whiskey up."
