Blink. Mao had to stop and think. Fire was one of his attributes, but he could not remember ever causing an actual fire big enough to kill anybody, let alone two people. That sort of thing would have been in the news. It took a moment of reflecting, but in the end Mao was quite confident that that particular rumor wasn’t true.
“That’s bullshit, I’ve never killed anybody.” He would have gone on, but Rey’s second story was one he couldn’t so easily deny. Mao scowled, found out. Who could be going around telling on him? Nobody fucking knew except Vaughn, and Mao was sure the man was too smitten to give him up, so it wasn’t him. Okay, maybe a few other people knew, like that Revenant person who claimed to be dead. Fucking stupid ghost! Mao’d kill him all over again if he had been blabbing shit around town!
