Mood disorders, yes. Dissociative disorders function a bit differently. As I understand it, the only path to betterness is through time and therapy, as it typically stems from traumatic circumstances. Even then, with DID, a 'Sybil' scenario, where the individual has their alters 'merged,' is no longer the goal of most therapeutic approaches. It can happen, but psychiatric professionals feel that achieving better harmony between alters is often more productive.
