Mao would have been disappointed in Alex’s disappointment if he knew about it. He never felt guilty about stealing, be it money or objects. The people he took from had, while he had not, so he was only evening the field, that’s all. Food, money, and material things were fleeting and all were replaceable, so why should he feel bad? People never appreciated them until they were gone, so really, it only served them right to lose them.
“Yeah, it's pretty great.” Though he had a feeling Alex didn’t actually agree. Oh, well. Mao knew no other way of life and was now too set in his ways to change. It was dogs who could be taught new tricks, not cats. Cats would always do what they wanted.
“Nobody’s gotten hurt who wasn’t already dead. Promise.” A wide grin followed that statement. Was he talking about the zombies he was currently shooting, or something else? He wasn’t going to tell. Nope, nope, nope.
“But why are you so worried about that, anyway? It kinda seems like a theme with you.” Defending people on the forums, giving the benefit of the doubt, etc. etc.
