Re: Electronics Shop Apartments: Shiloh F, Alex W
Whereas Alex had the opposite - the money he was saving on rent and putting away was easily the most he'd ever had in his life, even working something around thirty hours a week at a few bucks more than minimum wage. Of course it was more now, with Christmas approaching - he'd convinced his boss to let him pick up more hours in lieu of hiring someone seasonal, and overtime was a very real possibility in the coming month. He didn't mind working hard, and even with long hours, he still would have plenty of time to himself. But the point was, he counted every penny. Miserly wasn't the word; careful was. He'd even done the responsible thing and opened savings and checking accounts, but the debit card stayed in a drawer unless he needed cash. The temptation to swipe it everywhere was very real.
"Better?" Alex could be sulky and he could be stubborn and a lot of that came naturally as a part of being four months shy of his twentieth birthday, combined with a naturally propensity to dig in his heels a little and go on the defensive. So the word was a little wary. "I 'unno, like video games an'...goin' out in the woods, when it's nice?" Maybe not the Repose forests, but. "Tryin' to get more into reading more'n' comics, too." He was a slow, but persistent reader. "Why?" He wasn't doing a good job of tying the statement to the question asked.
