Re: Boathouse: Hugh & Atticus
"Thought that too. Book writing was my fallback, as if it was an easy thing. Not easy. Requires more willpower and dedication than I possess. Can have someone write your biography. Probably easier to just talk, let them interview you once you're a big, famous Oscar winner." Sounded smart to him. Still got the story out there, but without the extra blood, sweat and tears.
Sat up from his slouch. Knew he couldn't stay too long. The cold would make getting back harder if he did.
"If he stays, then I'm gone. Complicated. Don't think I'm interested in suicide today." Was dramatic, but offered in Atticus' usual and lazy way. Was blunt, but was just how it was. If the older version of him stayed, then he, as he was now, was gone. Wasn't feeling that today. Was feeling that less and less with every passing day.
Watched Hugh with the dog. Thought it was a good thing. Would be funny, getting a dog. Knew he went and decided to become a wolf at some point in the future, and supposed this could be an alternative version of that. Had no interest in a werewolf bite himself. But the dog seemed like a good idea. "Don't want her to fall in. It's all right," was his response to the offer to pet her. The water was frigid, and he didn't want to risk going in either. "But am going to think about it, about a dog. Have a lot of room to run," he added, which was a massive understatement. Just needed to ensure the dog would be safe. Had never worried about safe before, but he worried about it now. "Thanks for bringing her along."
