Re: Boathouse: Hugh & Atticus
The positive, perhaps, of having not bought a boat of his own yet, was that the open space where one might have been kept was very open for friends to pull into it, and he gave Atticus a smile as he fumbled with the heater that was built into one of the walls. "I don't know if I can get this on, but if I can, it might warm it up a bit in here after all. Either way..." He nodded towards the basket. "We've got warm coffee and a roof over our heads anyway."
Heart came up and sniffed Atticus's hands and Hugh turned away from the heater which he'd managed to turn on, to come back across to the canoe. "This isn't quite the sailboat is it?" He nodded at it. "But it might be a little hard to sail in the rain? Or I guess, maybe it's more breeze that matters than rain," he pulled up a chair and sat down near the canoe, motioning for Heart to lay down.
"Coffee?" He reached in and pulled it out. It was still nice and warm from the cobbler and the insulated container he'd had them in. "And it's really my pleasure to see you again." He didn't really ask why the boat. He'd figured out that the boat was where Atticus felt most comfortable for reasons he wasn't entirely certain about, but maybe he'd get a little more information about that eventually. Hugh sensed there was more, and it was repose, it felt as if there was always more with nearly every person that he met, but he also didn't like to pry.
"The time away was good," he smiled, reaching for one of the throws, he slid the other in Atticus' direction so he could grab it if he wanted, even though it seemed as though he really had bundled up well. "The filming was... really good. Which, its nice to have gone through that experience without any major fiascos," he grinned. "But also just - doing work again, and being around people that were pretty easy to work with... It was good. I feel refreshed I think."
A pause, and he took a sip of his coffee. "How were things while I was away?"
