Re: Theater: Eddie, Cat, Sasha
Letting people see your weaknesses? That was something that got you killed back home. It wasn't like this place, where people expected to see your underbelly, and where they thought it was strange if people didn't talk about their feelings. Cat understood, and she wasn't going to shine any kind of spotlight on Sasha's vulnerabilities. She wanted her sister safe, and that was all she wanted. "Eddie's right," she agreed, after Sasha apologized unnecessarily. "It's all his fault, so don't apologize." Her smile was warm, and she really didn't blame anyone for this, but teasing? Teasing was a good way to survive, to recover, and that was another lesson learned at home.
She didn't hug her sister, because Sasha hadn't been in a hugging mood with her in months. But Cat rubbed Sasha's back, hand slow and steady, and she would be glad to never see a snake again. Big words from someone with as much slink as Cat deliberately laid claim to.
Cat nodded at the suggestion that Sasha stay with Eddie for a while - it was a good suggestion. "Between us? We can clean this place up in no time. Make it better than new," she agreed, and she'd gladly be there with sleeves rolled up and her hair in a scarf. Hey, she was a country gal now, wasn't she. As for Eddie's apologetic glint? That got a shake of Cat's head, tiny, nearly imperceptible. Not necessary, that was what the shake of her head meant. No one needed to apologize here today.
She moved to the door, and she didn't look back. Another trait from home, and you didn't ever look at what you were leaving behind. That? Was always bad news.
