Re: Disembarking: Jack/Heath/Chris
Chris had driven to Repose at a speed that would have horrified her mother and sister and delighted her brothers to no end. Despite the fact that she was more or less spending her weekends with Heath (when she wasn’t on vacation), their’s wasn’t the type of relationship where help would be requested unless circumstances were dire. She had just gotten back to the Capital from her road trip earlier that afternoon, so for Heath to text her like that, going on about some train without making complete sense — that had scared her. Even if he did say he wasn’t hurt.
The last thing her family needed was for another terrible thing to happen.
Chris slowed down as her gps dot approached the pin on her phone, keeping her eyes peeled for two men headed towards the lakehouse. She had no idea how the men were trudging through this snow, but she hoped they were dressed for this weather.
Her headlights cut through the falling snow on to two very human shapes, one of which seemed to be waving at her. She threw her gear shift into park and jumped out of the car, rushing over towards the familiar lithe figure her younger brother cut. “Oh, I’m so glad I found you!” She threw her arms around Heath, pulling him towards the warmth of her houndstooth coat. “Come into the car, please, you must be freezing.” She turned towards the other man, her eyes reluctantly leaving her brother’s face. “You too, of course.”
