Re: The Secretary/The Crowned
He should have had -- others with him. Those that would watch and learn from his job, those that were there for safety, but he had not seen them and had little desire to find them. The times when he was alone, or when he could seek out his own entertainment were never as many as he would prefer.
His gaze remained on her face as she listed the places she would visit if she had the chance and he took another sip of his water, lips barely touching the glass before he answered her. What would it hurt? This little escape from duty and demand? "I have traveled to every corner of the world for business, and when I am lucky and I have the chance, I visit what I can. I confess no love for museums -- they are good for wetting the appetite for knowledge, but I find they are much like looking at photographs. To be there, to stand on the walls and in the castles presents a far better picture."
Her discretion was appreciated though and he offered her a small smile. "I have never been to Japan though, and I think I would like to see the Forbidden Palace. Those walls have enough history to delight for decades, if not centuries. As for the Great Wall, I thoroughly recommend it. Particularly if you have a love of history." The glass rotated back and forth in his hands before he seemed to realize something.
"Are you comfortable? Shall I smuggle a drink in for you? Or would you prefer to walk to the dining cart?"
