Re: The Jaded/The Disaffected
He wasn't usually the kind who watched, but he did keep watching, for now. Was equal parts melancholic, bored, and pleasantly buzzed from a couple whiskey sours, and a bit of felony theft was enough to hold his interest for the moment. Was counting on it to burn away the first and second on that list, if at all possible. Talking with Miles had been interesting, but he hadn't like the way it left him feeling.
Thought if you were looking for a score you might want to start with the baggage car, but points for ingenuity. He'd award those like some British boarding school for miscreant magicians. Low return on investment, though. Nicky wouldn't consider it really worth the risk. Of course, he wasn't about to run off and tattle. Had his own anti-establishment leanings.
Nicky had never had trouble with the law, though. He, as it were, answered to higher authorities. Or, lower. All a matter of perspective, really. He'd have been amused to know he came across as some sort of rich boy, but it wasn't an incorrect impression. Riches of the Earth, in a manner of speaking. A domain, a dominion. A birthright. The tickets had been VIP passes, thanks, and he'd made out with the drummer.
Smirk. He was willing to play along. That certainly did a good job of starting to alleviate the melancholy and the boredom. Nicky really did wish the train would start moving again. "That would make manslaughter next on the list," he said after a quick trip through the alphabet song in his head. "Murder not far behind. But molestation is in between, so at least you'll get to have some fun." He met the guy's gaze, one eye blue-green, the other greenish-blue. "Usually hands-off when it comes to crime. But in general? More of a participant." Sipped his drink, still held in his left hand. Still twirled the ring on the right. Round and around again, smooth as glass, but hard as iron, never leaving even the slightest impression on his finger.
