Re: The Disaffected/The Entertainer
Yes, people who were making mistakes. People who were supposed to protect kids. Sometimes, not actually people, too. So that was a wrench thrown into that line of thinking. Miles had a point. Most people did their best. Nicky was doing his best to be a normal and socialized member of society, etc. Took kids like him under his wing when he could. Not often, not a lot specifically like him. Half-brothers, half-sisters. His family. It was small. "They're not all bad," he conceded. Took a look around. Tail. Got his share, sure, but. There'd been a breakup. Golden-haired boy with a smile like the sun. And it had been a while. And he wasn't promiscuous about it, but maybe just looking for a way to pass the time. Not be alone for a little while. "If you're a musician on a label I'm sure there's all you want. No need to be modest." Maybe he'd have a drink or two and then go for a wander, so who he might find.
Well, that grabbed Nicky's attention quick. He didn't believe in otherworldly things so much as he just knew them to be true. The shadow behind the curtain. Looked like one thing, but. He wasn't of mere flesh and blood himself. Sort of. Had learned at an early age to keep an open mind. "What sort of 'out of the ordinary' do you think?" Just interested, nothing more. Willing to hear Miles out.
