Re: the thin and red/the actress
His question prompted an arched eyebrow, and she looked over at him, perfectly painted red lips turning up in a bit of a smirk. "Do I strike you as a kidnapper?" She asked him, clearly bemused.
Perhaps she ought to be more careful, after all, the night had absolutely taken a significantly different turn from what any of them might have anticipated, but she could hardly see how that really applied to her, specifically. If anything, she was more likely in danger of being kidnapped - possibly for some tall ransom - than of being one who kidnapped. She took a sip of her gin, placed the half empty tumbler down, and turned her attention to regard the man who had spoken to her.
There was nothing particularly unusual about him, nothing that might seem out of the ordinary or out of place. Likely not a kidnapper himself, at least, that was the conclusion she would draw at this particular moment. He appeared as if he were ready to go to the opera or theatre or perhaps a fancy party or gathering.
"I do hope they figure out what has happened quickly so that we can get moving again. I am supposed to meet someone at the station and they will end up waiting unpardonably long at this rate." A moment and she added. "Perhaps I should see if they have let the station know of our delay," but she didn't move to do so, and reached for the gin instead. "Do you have anyone waiting for you, Mr...?"
