Re: [B&B: Holly & Noah]
You know what Noah had just learned? That Jupiter was so big, it didn't fully revolve around the sun. The sun and it kind of had their own orbit. There was a sort of... mean-point? Just to the side of the sun or something, like the middle of their mutual pull. That was Holly and Noah. Because Noah wasn't the only one with that kind of crazy draw. Gravity. Whatever. I mean, Noah was literally on his ass. His back. But, his ass. Staring up at Holly above him, more than a little dazed, having hit the ground hard enough to knock the air from his lungs. He'd made a short, hard sound on impact, but had to try to catch his breath after that. He was pretty sure he'd smacked his head, but maybe he was seeing stars for multiple reasons.
The ball, Noah was aware in the way he was aware of a lot of things, was having a jolly time as it rolled over that-a-way, out of anyone's reach. It wasn't as good as a win, because the game was predicated on two people playing on their feet, in Noah's mind, but he'd give it to the dude, if it meant he, Holly, stayed where he was.—As Noah fought to manage a breath, his eyes screwed shut, he squeezed at Holly's thighs, not really letting the dude unknot himself. Noah held the dude there as best he could, even if it meant he had to curl up and wrap an arm around the back of Holly's neck and drag him down in a semi-headlock. He grunted. He wrestled Holly, if the dude made him, and he fought to get on top of him. The game had changed and the ball was no longer involved.
