Re: Amy's trailer: Amy M/Si M
It was a teeny tiny space, but that was okay. Hannah found that she felt safer in small, small spaces, as if the big and wide places were too big, too roomy and made for bad things to fit in them with her. Small and tiny, and Si took up so much space. He hadn't always. They'd both been small once. Small and scared and tiny enough to crawl beneath beds, to hide there, but that was a long, long time ago.
She sipped. Sip, sip, sip, and the tea was nice, and the heat was nice, and she shifted and put her thick-socked feet on one of his thighs, knees bent up in folds of white cotton over bare shins. He sighed, and she laughed. Despite everything, it was a bright laugh, a knowing laugh. "It's okay, Si. We can be dramatic and stubborn and annoying, and it's okay," she told him. "You don't need to fix us, and it's okay if we can't be fixed." She took another sip, absently rubbing one foot against his thigh as she did. "I know I always say loving each other is the only thing that matters, and I think maybe it's true with you and Mars, but it hasn't been like that for me with Jamie. It can still be that way for you three."
