Re: theater quicklog: Jamie/Ren
[Ren disliked talking about his past and he had from day one. There were people who got pieces of it, and those people honestly could be listed on one hand. Louis, before he'd left town completely, and Adrian, and Hannah, and Jamie, and sometimes Claire a little bit. Ren didn't talk about his past because he didn't like talking about the fact that his mother was a Senator - something he didn't know if he'd talked to anyone about, honestly - or that his Dad's shipping company was practically a household name. Most of what he'd talked about, was his training - his time in England, boarding schools shipped away to be out of sight of two parents who had a lot of work to keep them busy, and an Uncle to teach him how to not fuck up his magic, like his Grandfather had. For a moment, he screwed up his mouth, and then he turned to glance at Jamie.]
She's one of Luke's students - my Uncle - one of his students. There were some others he taught besides me, but she was one that my Dad found on the streets basically. Guess he figured out that she had magic like we did - I'm not certain how. Anyway, he and my mom kind of adopted her. She's not related - technically. [But it wasn't unlike having a perfect younger sibling that somehow seemed to do everything right even though she'd not grown up knowing what to do.]
It might be about something else. [Ren admitted this, and there was almost a note of hopefulness in his voice.] It'd be fine if I just never saw her. [This was, at best, impractical in a town the size of Repose, but he didn't really care what happened at his parents house. He barely thought about it - had definitely thought about it more the last few days than he had the entire few years he'd been here - and yet.] And I know it may not be months with Adrian, but like, that's what I'm working on right now - helping him - and I don't want the distraction. [Frustration, but he breathed out, took a deep breath in and considered the trailer without really seeing it. He needed to maybe not think about it for a while.] Tell me what you're doing.
