Delyth's 'entertainment' had always consisted of her putting together parties that were largely steered by party planners, and she'd frequently been anxious about. This sort of entertainment never felt remotely like the same thing at all, and instead it felt like something more cozy and friendly and intimate in a way that was honestly nice. She could let her hair down, in a matter of speaking, with Theodore. She knew he knew her well enough, and nearly as well as anyone in town did at this point. And the apartment over the shop, while she would have him over sometime, did not have this view at all.
"Probably," she paused and then sat back on the chair, letting the books be for a moment. "Here is what I understand about the situation. There's a young man who I knew his family, really better than I knew him, and his brother has some challenges. When I ran into him in the capital, he asked if there were any potions that might assist with multiple personalities and I told him I simply did not know. Because that was the truth at the time. My hope with the crystals is less to restrict or deny the multiple personalities entirely, and more to simply create a more stable emotional state in the first place - fewer ups and downs. I'm currently playing with amethyst maybe, as it's one of the more stable of the crystals. I know that some people do use potions to infuse crystals - help the power be more potent, but I'm also not certain if that's even a good thing here."
Theodore had brought up the notion of challenges and they were worth considering. She looked back at the books. "It might be best to start with one that isn't, before we seek anything more potent." She reached for the chain around her neck and pulled out the necklace she was wearing. "I've used amethyst myself for a while now, and it's a general good stabilizer, helps to connect the physical and emotional and mental energies - It is unlikely to cure something such as multiple personality disorder, but I suspect it might help to keep the energies connected."
