Such people were great marks for the 'roads demons like this one. Why worry and I'll think of it later, those were easy.
Janus examined the back cover of his book without seeing it. "Demon came to see me and offered. Fish," he put down the book, "in a barrel."
A short nod. "Civilians in war. Not much value except that way." Janus was no philosopher, so he shrugged. He didn't know who was right, and honestly didn't think he cared. "Heaven is a place, so is Hell." Janus put his feet up on the seat opposite, the one next to Atticus' hip at the table. "You let me know when you want to go, and we'll wake up." Then, rather than picking up the book, Janus closed his eyes and tilted his head back in accurate facsimile of sleep.
