Glanced down at his hand one more time. Great. Scarring. "Scars lend character. At least they do in books." Grinned again, that lazy grin. If he was bothered by the promise of scars it didn't show. Wasn't bothered, really. Had no physical vanity. Was more invested in comfort than he was in how he looked. Always had been.
Glanced over at Janus when he laughed. Was a different laugh. Younger. Possibly less tired. Assumed life did that. This Janus laughed like one of his students. Smiled back. Comfortable. "I assumed demons would be offended at the implication that their religion was just a snake oil salesman's currently lucrative setup." Said that easily, unbothered. Another chuckle. "Don't like reading? Get that. Know a lot of people that don't like reading. Like stories?"
Walked into the domed room, between the rows of tables.
