"Great. Something to look forward to." Glanced down at his hands once more, but then let it go. Was his way, not to worry about things unless they absolutely needed to be worried about. Would forget about his hands until it was time to leave. Was how he got through life.
Listened, then nodded his head toward the domed reading room. Walked slowly, letting the younger version of Janus fall into step beside him. Didn't rush. Was downright sluggish in his movements. Didn't want to rush anything. Stopped at the opening to the room. Glanced up at the arched ceiling, then forward at the rows of tables, all of them with green bankers lamps atop. Was neat. Was orderly. "Always thought libraries felt sacred," he said, chuckling at himself. Voice was low, a respectful whisper. The chuckle was quiet too. "Funny, since I never did believe in religion. No offense."
