Re: log: adrian and ren - in the cottage
Ren watched, drank another sip of tea, and the nodded. A piece that had gotten lost made a weird sort of sense, and he had questions: questions about whether it would be possible to potentially combine those pieces all back together, to integrate them, or whether it was something that couldn't be done - but could be managed in such a way as to help Adrian operate more safely outside of this case.
"You mentioned that before, I think," he noted. "The negative emotion thing. But you're going to have negative emotions sometimes, so..." It was like Ren. He was going to be angry sometimes and all the shaming from his Uncle wasn't going to change that - emotions happened, including negative ones. "Do you try to suppress the negative emotions because you know that? Like generally?" He didn't have an obscurus like Adrian did, and maybe Adrian didn't try to, but Ren knew he had done so for years, because of fear of the power he had being used in negative ways.
He reached a hand across and offered a small smile. "Yeah. I mean, and I've seen it, and you." The you maybe felt like the most significant part of that. He was glad now they'd met in the woods, that he had seen it that night, and that maybe that too would help here. "For right now, we're in this case, so we're not going to have to worry about anyone other than us, and I've got a fair number of shielding magics that I can use if I need to as well."
