Re: The Good Diner: Alex, Noah, Holly
Holly handed the shake back without protest. He was distracted, right? By this entire conversation. I mean, Holly was still obsessed with all things weird, and Noah would regularly wake up to piss to find him, Holly, in bed with the laptop, YouTube playing Scare Theater, or Ask a Mortician, or Nexpo, or some other weird supernatural or crime mystery thing. This was like a YouTube episode in person, one playing in the episode of the Twilight Zone that was his current life. So, yeah, he handed back the shake, and he nodded when Noah clarified what he, Holly, had been asking Alex. He did shoot Noah a glance at all that admission, but he thought it was a smooth fix, right? And Alex had to have already picked up that Noah was way emphatic... like in a totally normal and non-weird, non-Star Trek way.
Holly thought for a second, while swallowing the fry he'd just tucked past his lips, and he considered what to say. "Um... okay, so, no names, right? But he was really smart, like a geek-brain-type. Everyone thought he was emotionally just not into being close to people, because he was secretive and a kinda loner, which, yeah, that made sense to me," because Holly understood that perfectly. "Um, right, so you? Totally chased his ass for, like, a year or something, and then you hooked up and stayed hooked up. It was kinda cool, like you balanced each other? And then, after school, you bailed together." He figured that was good, if generic enough. Right? He glanced over at Noah, and he grinned. "I mean, it's good for too-serious people to end up with more carefree people, I think." Which, yeah, admission, whatever. He stole the milkshake back.
