Re: Tandy/Billy/Atticus: the lake
Chuckled at Billy. "Can come sound obnoxious with us," he offered agreeably as he lazily guided the ferry around the fattest part of the island.
As for Tandy, Atticus didn't see tall and handsome and the rest. He saw a kid that seemed to process and communicate in a way that indicated some kind of problem or issue, or, equally interesting in a troubling way, a kid who was deliberately adopting an affectation of speech. Was just training, looking for things that were different in his students. A lot of problems started during the young adult years. Was always on the lookout for them. Was his job. Was habit. Didn't think it made Tandy a bad kid by any means, but it was definitely a thing. "Think being lazy doesn't sound so bad," he said easily. "Am lazy now." Grin. As if Billy could've possibly missed that. "Good to know I achieve hot in my final years, though. Life goal."
