Re: [Recovery: Marta & Hannah]
Hannah still very much wanted the world to be a good place, and she wanted to see the good in people, and maybe that was really, really stupid given the events of her life, but she just couldn't wake up and be sad every day, or she thought maybe she'd just... stop being one day. So she looked for the best, and really it was easier for her that way. So, sitting across from Marta now, she really believed Seven cared, and she probably believed it just as strongly as Marta believed that Seven didn't care.
"Maybe," she said, echoing the written word with a smile.
Hannah didn't understand the confusion that crossed Marta's face a moment later. It didn't occur to her even for a second that Marta didn't see prettiness when she looked in the mirror, because Marta was pretty. The other girl was pretty in a really obvious way, so Hannah didn't make the connection. And when Marta said it was nice of her, Hannah had to twist the sentence around in her head to make sense of it. "Oh... You mean because I told him what you looked like?" she asked, her smile still there, warm, because this was about Marta and Si, and Hannah could focus on that. "I just wanted him to know you're his type. He has a type," she said of her brother, and she thought Marta and Destiny both fit really, really squarely into the center of that type.
She fidgeted more with the camera, and then she lifted it a little. "Want me to take a picture?" she asked. "I'm not very good yet, but..." And then it occurred to her that Marta probably didn't know what Si looked like, and she wondered that the girl hadn't asked yet. "What does Seven look like?" she asked curiously.
