"I don't know if that's the sort of thing I want to encounter while out yachting," Theodore said with a little chuckle. "Though perhaps it was a large yacht? Then again, for an animal which puts whales on the menu, it might not matter."
"Ah, but you said you were in the play, right? Certainly you must have met a few fellow actors, there? I suppose there's a lot of introspection when it comes to getting your own part down, but at the same time I think you have to have a certain amount of interaction with your fellow cast, right? Or am I completely misunderstanding the theater process?" Though his tone wasn't harsh, his words could be construed to be, in retrospect, so he added, to soften them, "But even if you didn't, I...would say merely the fact of your participation would seem like a step in the right direction. Even if they're small steps, they are steps forward."
Theodore smiled back. It had been a suggestion, made on a whim. Hugh had been a great host and he wanted to be a good guest in turn. In truth, a little magic could get the whole thing done without any intervention on their part, but that was a part of him that he wasn't ready to reveal. Sure, he felt comfortable around Hugh, but not...breaking secrecy comfortable. "Well, perhaps instead of doing dishes, you could tell me how you're familiar with how a film crew works. Is that...school knowledge, or practical, you've-been-in-movies knowledge?"
