"Well, to be honest, most of those trips do take place when she's gone," Theodore pointed out. With Jamie gone, any loneliness he still felt happened when she was away at school. "We talked about if she wanted to return, after Jamie died," he explained further. "But she has her own life there, her own friends." And, well, for a magical education, it was going to be a boarding school regardless. "We decided in the end that it was best if we carried on as we had." Then, to change the subject. "Of all the places I've been, I'm fairly certain I've never taken a ferry ride. Or done very much on the water."
Hmm. First "attractive," and then more so than Harrison Ford? Theodore had to wonder if Hugh was just being charming and friendly or actually flirting, and then, how he felt about that. Clearly, it had been a long time since any of that or the associated feelings or actions that came with it, and quite frankly, he didn't know how he would feel if that were the case. Guilty, perhaps? Relieved? It was entirely too muddled in his mind to make any specific decisions at the moment. "Well, there's no rush, but I'm glad you've started on it. It's only been a couple days and since you've got your rehearsals, I know that's the moment you want to be in right now."
"Ah, but, you do live here," Theodore pointed out with something of a smirk. "In a house, and everything. And have for some time, yes? I don't know specifically what qualifies or not but that does seem to be a fairly good indicator that you are, in fact, at least somewhat local."
