Hugh shook his head slightly, but his gaze softened. Sometimes it felt like that was how everyone saw him, so he might as well adopt the identity and just get it out there, and maybe if he did, it wouldn't be as difficult. And he wasn't certain if Theodore was just being nice, or maybe he didn't, actually. Regardless... "I'd love to see all of those things, and obviously a show, or two or three depending on what is playing." There were a lot of British actors whose work he admired that he knew did live theatre in London from time to time, and with any luck he could see that.
"Leonardo is as valid a reason to see it as any," Hugh laughed. "But honestly, both him and Claire Danes pulled in amazing performances on top of all the visual. It doesn't have to be my favorite Shakespeare play to also be something that I really enjoy artistically. And you should know that this is a judgement free movie zone. We like what we like, and as I firmly, apologetically enjoy romcoms and musicals, I judge no one else for their film tastes, or music tastes for that matter," he grinned. "And yeah, it does have heart, and it is a great escape. I should rewatch it," he mused. "Maybe when I'm done with the play."
Hugh put his coffee down and leaned in, elbow on the edge of the sofa, so that even with the table between them, he was a little closer. "Did I say old? I'm pretty certain I meant distinguished, because I'm not going to claim old yet, and I'm also convinced almost 40 will sneak up on me sooner rather than later, and I'm not going with old then either," and he hadn't exactly been needling for an answer to a question he'd had about how old Theodore was, but it answered it, and Hugh felt vaguely smug about the fact that he'd been reasonably certain Theodore wasn't over 40. "If you miss a punctuation in a text to me from here on out I'm just going to W T F at you," he reached for the coffee again, leaning back, teasing in his eyes.
"And speaking of distinguished," he added. "all that travel feels so distinguished. Elaine's lucky to have seen so much of the world with you at this age."
