Alex actually giggled a little at the reaction, which he thought might be the exhaustion because that wasn't a generally typical thing for him to do. Regardless, it made him happy that he'd provoked such a reaction.
"Yeah, maybe that," he agreed. "Just with this, like..." He frowned. "It's not a tip jar. There're big bills down in there, twenties and fifties. It's like eight hundred dollars, Mal. This is someone's savings or something. I mean maybe I could drop it off but they'd probably wanna find out who took it and that's like...I dunno, petty theft and breaking and entering at least?" He wasn't really sure. He'd been picked up a couple times, never charged, but after the trial and everything that went with it, he didn't want to find out what could happen if he got in any sort of real trouble. "It was like the first thing that showed up. Ummm," He had to think, the days all running together. "The morning after the play."
