Re: Edge of a rooftop; defying gravity/scaring himself
The green girl's heart pounded harder and faster when he said it wasn't a game. It didn't feel like a game to her either, even knowing what she knew about him, or what she thought she knew about him. She hurled words at him earlier with a certainty she no longer felt, and the only certainty she currently felt was that she didn't want this moment to end. It was as if she was making up for so much lost time, which she knew wasn't anything founded in logic. Just for this moment, she reminded herself.
Broom in her hand, she made a snort of a sound when he told her to dance more. She didn't immediately mount and leave. She should immediately mount and leave. But she surged forward once and kissed him one more time, intending to wipe that charming smile off his face with the pressure of the kiss. But she knew the kiss didn't feel like some triumphant obfuscation of his grin. It felt like memory, or like making a memory with the swipe of her tongue, and she stayed right there for a second longer. If she knew a chant to make him remember her in the morning, she would say it then. She didn't know any chant like that, so she just touched his cheek and held his gaze a moment before stepping back and holding her broom at her side, letting it carry her upward and reluctantly out of sight.
