A shiver actually slid down Hugh's spine, and he nodded, appreciatively. "Really I should have tapped you to help me write my screenplay," he told her. "I think you'd have been far better at it than I was." Or maybe, really it was that all other things aside, he still felt like they wrote the best stories together. Maybe even love stories - just not their love stories.
"And she's staring at it, there's a sort of delicious terror and thrill and want and fear all at the same time," he glances over. "And who knows what would have happened if a breeze hadn't caught the door and slammed it, hard, and it pulls her from watching the garden, and whatever spell there was is broken, and she runs from the attic, saved for this night."
